General Description

Nişantaşı University, Department of Mechatronics Engineering started its educational activities in 2015 and continues to educate students as a multidisciplinary department.

Students who graduate from this department are entitled to a Mechatronics Engineering diploma.

Bachelor degree

Admission and Registration Conditions The student who wants to enroll in the department must have completed the processes / passed the exams determined by the OSYM within the framework of the academic and legal legislation of the university. A student who has started his education in an equivalent program in Turkey or abroad can apply for undergraduate transfer. The admission of students is examined before the semester starts, taking into account the conditions of each student and the degree to which they apply, and are evaluated specifically. Students coming from abroad within the scope of student exchange programs approved by the university and whose limits are determined with an agreement can take the courses offered in the department.

In Turkey's higher education institutions, learning recognition of previous formal (formal), vertical, horizontal, and transitions within the university is determined by the Board of Higher Education "HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS in the undergraduate and graduate levels in PROGRAMS BETWEEN THE CROSSING, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND INSTITUTIONS INTERNATIONAL CREDIT REGULATION REGARDING THE PRINCIPLES OF MAKING A TRANSFER ”. If the courses in higher education institutions where students have previously studied are accepted as valid as a result of their adjustment procedures, students are also exempted from these courses.

The student must have passed all the courses in the program and must not have an FF or DZ grade. In this program, the student must provide a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and the GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Mechatronics engineering is an multi-discipliner branch of engineering that aims to produce system-level solutions using mechanical, electrical-electronic, control and software knowledge and skills. Educational objectives of the program: - Ability to offer optimum solutions or innovative designs to complex engineering problems in professional business life - Able to make positive contributions as a mechatronics engineer in an interdisciplinary team, as a leader or a staff member - Having effective verbal and written communication skills in his professional life - Following current developments and trends, constantly renewing and improving his technical and social knowledge and skills -To educate engineers who are sensitive to the social and environmental problems of the country and the world, adhere to ethical values and can provide solutions and services with an entrepreneurial spirit

Graduates of the department can work as Mechatronics Engineer at different levels in various universities, public and private institutions-organizations, research institutes, especially in our country and foreign country industry. For example, the business areas that can be worked on can be listed as follows: Automation companies, defense industry, instrumentation companies, spacecraft, satellite systems, facilities manufacturing space shuttle, aircraft industry, robot systems, robot automation, robot manufacturing facilities, wherever there are smart systems. , companies producing biomedical systems, automotive industry, gas distribution companies, facilities producing renewable energy or producing these technologies, oil distribution companies, water distribution companies, hydroelectric power plants, iron and steel industry, construction and cement industry, ceramic and glass industry, water and wastewater treatment industry, food and pharmaceutical industry, textile and paper industry, machinery and manufacturing sector, hydroelectric power plants, thermal power plants, natural gas conversion plants, energy distribution places, chemical and petrochemical enterprises, oil and gas enterprises, smart building contracting companies , ready-mixed concrete companies, telemetry systems facilities producing sea freight, power plants, nuclear power plants, companies that manufacture elevators and escalators, facilities producing military technology, the ship industry, industries that consume durable goods, the production industry of trains and locomotives, shipyards.

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in postgraduate programs.

Evaluation of success a) In evaluating the success of a student from a course, the mid-term grade given over a hundred full points in the semester studies for that course and the final grade given over a hundred full points in the final exam are taken into account. b) In measuring success, the weight of the midterm grade is 40% and the weight of the final exam is 60%. Success grade (1) Success grade is determined as follows. Relative evaluation method is used to determine this. The lectures of the department are given by expert faculty members. Since it is a multidisciplinary department, other faculty members of the department within the faculty also take the courses. In addition, there is an Electrical-Electronics Laboratory, Computer Laboratories, Mechanical Operation Laboratory, and Physics Laboratory allocated to the use of department students.


Program Learning Outcomes

1 Adequate knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering subjects related to their own branches; ability to apply theoretical and applied knowledge in these areas to model and solve engineering problems.
2 Ability to identify, define, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.
3 The ability to design a complex system, process, device or product under realistic constraints and conditions to meet specific requirements; ability to apply modern design methods for this purpose. (Realistic constraints and conditions include elements such as economy, environmental problems, sustainability, manufacturability, ethics, health, safety, social and political problems, depending on the nature of the design.)
4 Ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools required for engineering practice; ability to use information technologies effectively.
5 Ability to design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for investigating engineering problems.
6 Ability to work effectively in disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teams; ability to work individually.
