Covering the historical phase from the Anglo-Saxon period to the end of the Renaissance period, this course examines English poetry and prose within the framework of social and literary developments.

Covers the first two periods and experiences of English literary history - ancient (Anglo-Saxon) and medieval. The characteristics of these two periods, their literary traditions and genres, their main authors, their works, and the literary interaction and continuity of these periods form the basis of the course.
