Dersin Amacı

Introduction to Design course aims at investigation, questioning and interpretation of the design idea, space concept, basic principles of design and the relations those concepts and principles create with other scopes of knowledge. The existing architectural environment is a part of the education in this investigation, questioning and interpretation process.

5 Students will be able to draw sketches, 2d and 3d drawings, 2d and 3d graphic expressions, solid model expressions.

1 General information about Interior Architecture. The concept of space, the basic elements of design. Application 1: Surveying techniques, taking class survey. Plan of classroom surveys. Scale: 1/50.
2 Drawing of four sections of classroom survey. Scale: 1/50. Drawing the ceiling plan of the classroom. Scale: 1/50
3 Application 1 delivery. Practice 2: Giving information about parent bedroom design. Identification of user profile and preparation of research file.
4 Application 2: Plan sketches of 1/50 scale. 1/20 scale plan drawing. 1/20 scale section drawing.
5 1. midterm exam
6 Delivery of application 2 and giving the subject and plan for application 3.
7 Application 3: Giving information about living space and entree. Determination of user profile and preparation of research file. 1/50 scale plan sketches.

9 Application 1: Bathroom design. Bathroom set-up and installation, materials, lighting, bathroom utensils, necessary information about anthropometric measures. Bathroom design. Determination of user profile and preparation of research file. 1/10 scale plan sketches.
10 2. midterm exam
11 Bathroom design. 1/10 scale plan and section drawing. . 1/10 scaled 4 section drawings from each side. 1/10 scale ceiling and lighting plan drawing.
12 Application 1 delivery. Kitchen design. Information on kitchen layout and installation, materials, lighting, kitchen utensils, anthropometric measurements. Determination of user profile and preparation of research file. 1/10 scale plan sketches.
13 Kitchen design. 1/10 scale plan drawing.
14 Kitchen design. 1/10 scaled 4 section drawings from each side. 1/10 Ceiling and lighting plan drawing.
15 Preparing kitchen project for presentation. Application 2 delivery.
