This course aims to provide a basic understanding of genres, authors, periods of the English literary canon, while England's institutions such as education, justice, administration, family, religion as a multicultural society will be examined by class, gender, film, cultural and literary features such as daily life, customs, traditions that regulate daily life and society.

The course primarily covers the concepts of literature canons and `culture,` `upper culture,` `popular culture,` `mass culture` and `subculture`. This course aims to examine the changes and trends in English novels in the first half of the 20th century in relation to the concepts of modernity, modernism, and avant-garde.
